Snow totals: See how your area measures up
Lake Effect Snow Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect until 7 p.m. for many arts of northeast Ohio. Early Thursday morning, as of about 7 a.m., Meteorologist Jenn Harcher reported some areas had seen more than a foot of snowfall.
New 24-hour snowfall totals from the National Weather Service in Cleveland show more than a foot of snow in parts of Cuyahoga County, with heavy lake effect accumulations across the snowbelt and east side.
Precipitation, likely in the form of rain, is expected to begin falling after midnight Sunday, NWS Raleigh meteorologist Aaron Swiggett told The News & Observer in a call. Then there will be a slow transition of the rain/snow line moving eastward with time, before moving out of the area around 7 p.m. Sunday.
Some areas of metro Detroit got more than 6 inches of snow, while some communities in southwest Michigan saw more than 16 inches of total accumulation, according to the National Weather Service.
